Very late post hidden in my drafts but WOW! InsideOUT is fabulous. It's everything you've seen circulating social media and more! I visited in November to celebrate my birthday and although I missed out on there being a special theme on the patio, it was still amazing. My lovely friend reserved a last minute table so we ended up inside but the service and the overall experience did not lack. When we were done, we pranced around outside to ooh and ahh at the patio. Drinks, food, and the birthday wishes were all great. Our server was also lovely as he recommended the next best time to visit to see the Christmas decor in full effect. Sadly we didn't get to come back for it but I will definitely keep InsideOUT on my San Diego dining rotation. When visiting, absolutely make a reservation far in advance especially when they're all decked out with a fun theme.
What a fun place to and enjoy brunch. Love that they have different themes. First time here and already can't wait to come back for another theme. Can we talk about the service here, Josh was awesome. He was sweet, patient and personable. He did such a good job coming by to check on us without coming by too much. The Italian breakfast was amazing, would definitely get this again. Loved that it came with a double espresso which paired well with the mini filled donuts. Thank you insideOUT for a good first time and to our server Josh for the hospitality. Can't wait to come back and try something different on the menu.
This place is GORGEOUS! I've been seeing it all over social media and have been wanting to come here, but the reservations are SO HARD to get! My sister and I decided to just take the risk and came around 5-6pm on a Saturday night for her birthday dinner. There was a bit of a line outside the door, but it moved quite quickly. To be honest, we were expecting at least an hour wait, but to our surprised when we made it to the hostess stand, she directed us inside and had us seated right away! I was completely blown away by the beauty, craft, and attention to detail displayed all around the whole place! This place was made for pictures, in fact, they encourage it, and every single seat and every single inch of this place is insta-worthy! You can't take a bad pic in here!! I appreciated that every seat was beautifully decorated and aesthetically pleasing so you can take gorgeous photos even just from your table. Not only that, they have a gorgeous garden display that they encourage you to walk around to check out and take tons of pictures in! Even the bathroom (note: it is gender neutral) was stunning! The decor, the floor to ceiling glass windows, just everything about this place was top notch! The best part is, the food and drinks were equally amazing! We both got the steak, and had no idea that we were actually going to be the ones cooking it at the table! Although if we'd known that, we probly would've gotten something else (just was concerned it'd get messy on our white tops with all the splashes). Regardless of the mess, the steaks were amazing and the drinks (both cocktails and mocktails) were equally delicious as well! To be honest, for such a beautiful and well marketed place, we thought the prices would be way more expensive than what it is, and it's pretty on par with most other restaurants (that aren't even as cute)!
Such a beautiful place to have drinks and dinner with friends. Located in hillcrest it has its own personality. When you walk in you are entering a beautiful garden that takes your breath away. I love how they decorated this place. The food was actually delicious. I loved the poke and the bbq shrimp. Service was great. Not quite sure how I felt about the all gender bathrooms.
It's been 5 years since I've been here and they changed up their menu and theme. Service and experience was way better this time around. We came with a party of 6 for an inside table reservation at 6:45. We got there a bit early to take photos of the cheery blossoms, Spring Oasis theme that ends 12 May. I started with the Orange Blossom ($16) cocktail from their oasis menu because I'm a tequila girl. It was served in a tall glass. It wasn't too sweet and had a bit of bitter taste yet refreshing. Each of us ordered an entree and shared sides. I got the Coriander Crusted Yellowfin Tuna ($38). The skin was perfectly seared and slices of tuna sat on top of a soy glazed dynamite sauce. Came with a block of furikake rice cake that looked like rice crispy treats, topped with radish sprouts and long green beans. We ordered Brussels sprouts ($7.50), sweet potato fries ($9), onion rings ($9), bbq garlic prawns ($22) to share. Truffle brussles sprouts was the favorite. Roasted perfectly with crispy skin. The prawns came with 5 pieces with patatas brava. We were thinking of ordering the crispy potatoes and glad we didn't because the patatas brava took its place with the crispy skin. This place is great for the experience and ambiance. If you have a smaller party or come for drinks, sit outside. It's nested in a courtyard of the apartment but you can't tell from all the decor. Parking in this area is challenging. There are metered parking and others have restrictions before 6pm. Easier to carpool or ride share.
Came for the "Springtime Oasis" and goodness the ambiance was magical! The decor is so cute, it's interesting that the outdoor dining area is located within a courtyard of an apartment building. I was actually impressed with the how the food tasted, I came in with zero expectation as I decided to come here based on decor alone. To my surprise, it was truly delicious. My date and I ordered the bbq garlic prawns for an appetizer, he chose the coriander crusted yellowfin tuna entree, I chose the the braised beef entree, and both decided on the dessert special (strawberries & cream mille-feuille). We enjoyed absolutely everything! We each ordered several drinks from the bar and they did not disappoint. Taste and alcohol ratio spot on. My favorite drink would be Freaky Tiki. The service was quick, efficient, friendly, and just pleasant to interact with. It was a wonderful dinner date that we spent over 2 hours here because we were so impressed. *You definitely need to book reservations in advance as it is popular and busy.*
Went here with a friend for the "springtime oasis" experience and it didn't disappoint. The floral decorations are gorgeous and so colorful. The restaurant has a very indoor/outdoor feel but it didn't feel too cold inside. We came on a Wednesday around 4:30 and we were able to get seated at a table and also get to enjoy their happy hour which was going till 6! You scan a QR code for their drinks/hh choices. Got a couple glasses of wine. No food but it did look delicious. Would definitely come back.
Fun dinner ambiance for seasonal decor. Reservations have to made about a month out but if they have special decorations going on, it's a nice ambiance. I don't think I'd go if there weren't decorations though. The outdoor dining is in the courtyard of an apartment building so I'm sure it feels very different without decorations. We got the arancini to start and the hot stone filet and salmon with lemon orzo for our mains. All good dishes, but again, you're going for the ambiance rather than the food. Fun place for date night or out-of-towners!
